About Dr. Allison ReadingerDr. Readinger opened Trinity Vista Dermatology in October of 2010 after 3 years of experience in private practice as a dermatologist and dermatopathologist. Believing that Fort Worth still needs more dermatologists to suit its growing population helped shape her desire to move her practice back to Fort Worth after having practiced in Dallas as well as Galveston and Texas City. She continues to work closely with colleagues in Dallas who are affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center to provide dermatopathology services through Pathologists’ Biomedical Laboratories. She spends time teaching dermatology and pathology residents in dermatopathology at the Baylor University Medical Center each week.
Dr. Readinger grew up in East Texas in Longview where she was a graduate of Longview High School. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with high honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts honor society. She received the gift of her education from The Terry Foundation, with whom she continues to work as a student mentor and serves on their Advisory Panel.
Like her grandfather and great-grandfather before her, she attended The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she completed her medical degree with honors and was selected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After moving to Houston for internship at St. Joseph hospital, she returned to Galveston via a daily commute for her residency at UTMB’s department of dermatology, a place she describes as special in that “it was always a joy to come to work because of the wonderful faculty and fellow residents that were there.” Having worked closely with faculty members Drs. Ramón Sánchez and Dr. Maria Colome, she developed an interest in dermatopathology, diagnosing skin lesions and rashes under the microscope. A fellowship at The University of Texas in Houston under Dr. Ronald Rapini helped her to refine her skills in dermatopathology in preparation for life in private practice and as a future teacher of residents.
Family ties led Dr. Readinger and her husband to move to Fort Worth, the place they now call home with their two children. Spending time with patients and helping them improve their skin conditions keep her busy, but she and her family enjoy spending time outdoors and attending cultural events in this great city when time permits.
