Microblading, a popular way to enhance and improve the eyebrow shape, is offered at Trinity Vista Dermatology in Fort Worth. A form of semi-permanent makeup, microblading is a process of tattooing the brow area with pigment inserted into the skin.
Who can benefit from microblading?
Patients who have decreased or thin eyebrow hair or who would like to accentuate the appearance of the brows can benefit from microblading. The shape of the brow can also be tailored to fit the style desired. The patient takes part in choosing a desired brow shape prior to beginning the procedure.
Patients must be 18 years of age or older and should not be pregnant.
What can patients expect from the procedure?
Microblading is performed in two sessions to achieve best results. Small nicks are made in the skin, and pigment is applied in the desired shape.
Immediately after the procedure, the pigment is very sharp and dark. During the first few days after the procedure, some flakiness occurs. This is just a normal part of the healing process, and after healing the pigment may be less dark. 40% fading on average is normal after one session. The patient will return for a second session 4-6 weeks later to achieve desired results.
The final results last on average a year to a year and a half as gradual fading occurs over time.
